Revolutionary Youth Mobilize for Palestine!

The Revolutionary Student Union (RSU) has participated in and hosted numerous actions in support of Palestine since the recent counter-offensive on October 7th, 2023, however our support for Palestine and the heroic resistance of the Palestinian people is not just limited to October 7th. We find it necessary to start off this article by giving some much needed background information to explain why we support the people of Palestine against the Zionist state of Israel.

Zionism is an ideology that seeks to establish a country of only white Jews in the land of Palestine, requiring the expulsion of the native population: Palestinians. Most Israelis are descendants of Jewish people living within Europe and North America who recently arrived to Palestine, they aren’t indigenous at all. The Zionist state of Israel is a fairly new creation and was only founded in 1948 after fascist militias backed by western imperialists seized portions of the Palestinian land and founded the state of “Israel”. During this process called the Nakba (Arabic for catastrophe) approximately 800,000 Palestinians were forced off of their land and about 20,000 Palestinians were murdered. Israel’s supporters seek to appropriate terminology from actual indigenous liberation movements to garner sympathy. In reality Israel is a fascist settler-colonial project, which is hellbent on displacing and conducting genocide against the Palestinian people in order to re populate the land of Palestine with settlers from all around the world in a very similar process to how the US displaced and slaughtered the Native Americans.

David Ben Gurion the founder of “Israel” said “We [Zionists] were conquering, conquering, conquering a land. We were a company of conquistadors”. This violent sentiment towards the Palestinian people is not limited to the past. Netenyahu the current leader of “Israel” said himself that “We are dealing with human animals (referring to the Palestinians) and we must treat them as such.”

The counter-offensive on October 7th was the result of 75+ years of Israeli aggression and occupation of Palestinian land. Oppressed peoples around the world have the right to defend themselves by any means necessary. Liberation for oppressed peoples has never been a peaceful process and we understand that the universal law of revolutionary violence is applicable from Palestine to the Congo. Since October 7th Israel has killed over 22,000 Palestinians and injured over 57,000. The vast majority of these casualties are innocent civilians as well.

The counter-offensive carried out by the Palestinian National Resistance was a heroic act that should be viewed as an inspiration to all progressive-minded and anti-imperialist people worldwide. October 7th shall go down in history as a day in which the Palestinian people struck a blow against the state of Israel that reverberated around the world, and certainly reached the ears of Israel’s Yankee masters, the United States. After all, it was the masses of the world that celebrated this heroic counter-offensive, and confirms that the main contradiction today is between that of the oppressed nations, who are burning with hope and determination, and the imperialist powers. Increased repression of the pro-Palestinian movement in this country only serves to confirm the cause of the Palestinian people to be the righteous. The same warmongers and imperialist scoundrels that clamored for military intervention in Iraq and Afghanistan are now calling for the outright genocide of the Palestinian people, and calling for repression of those who dare to speak out against genocide.

If historical precedent teaches us anything, it is the blatant and glaring unreliability of all promises, claims, and statements by the Israeli project. Those who have studied the Zionist project and are familiar with their propaganda machine live in a constant state of déjà vu. The edict “trust nothing Israel says” is becoming confirmed more and more everyday.

Ask yourself, if a cause was truly just and righteous as Zionist delude themselves into believing, would there be a necessity to doxx, harass, or in many unfortunate cases kill those who merely speak out against their crimes? Would there be a necessity to detain and imprison 700 children as young as 12 each year? The answer is a resounding no.

Therefore, if the state of Israel is known to lie, and has a clear genocidal intent which has been exacerbated to the highest degree since October 7th, why should anyone take their word at face value? Time and time again an atrocity or crime is levelled against the Palestinian people and Israel always conveniently has an excuse as to how they’re not responsible. Time and time again it will quietly come out months after the act that Israel is indeed responsible. Why bury yourself in this cycle of lies when we can catch Israel during the act and hold them accountable? The Palestinian people and masses of the world all knew that journalist Shireen Abu-Akleh was killed by an Israeli sniper, despite Israel’s vehement denial. They knew that it was Israel who caused the strike on the Al-Ahli hospital, killing hundreds of Palestinians. They can see through the fog of genocidal lies, let us join them. Let us oppose Zionist lies and stand on the right side of history. Let us stand with the heroic resistance of the Palestinian people.

The history of Zionism is a bloodstained one. The path to Israel’s foundation was paved with the blood of thousands of Palestinian men, women, and children. Today Israel seeks to extend this path by completing its nearly century-long genocidal mission. The recent onslaught Israel has unleashed upon the Gaza Strip is not something unique to Israel’s history of slaughtering mostly civilians in campaigns to eradicate Palestinian resistance. In 1982, Israel launched a siege against Beirut to combat the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). Within 10 weeks, over 19,000 Palestinian and Lebanese, a majority of which being civilians, were killed. A historical parallel can be drawn from their campaign against Gaza, to that against Palestinians in Lebanon. While Israel claimed they were only embarking on this mission to eradicate the PLO, the main victims were indeed civilians. Not a single PLO stronghold for communications or command was even hit. Today, Israel claims they are merely bombarding Gaza to eradicate Hamas. Today we must unmask these lies and point them out for what they truly are, barefaced lies.

In public discourse, the Palestinian resistance is constantly denounced for its alleged sexual crimes committed against Israeli civilians. It is at this time we would like to call to attention the long and disgusting history of sexual violence that Israel has subjected the Palestinian people to. Since the beginning of the Zionist project, Palestinian woman in particular have been subjected to the great injustice of sexual violence, which typically accompanied the violence unleashed by Zionist militias in their missions to ethnically cleanse Palestinian villages. Even Israeli sources, such as Haaretz have reported horrific sexual crimes committed during the Nakba. The ethnic cleansing of Palestinian is partially built upon the specific targeting of Palestinian woman in order to expedite Palestinian ethnic cleansing. The testimony of one Palestinian mother who experienced the Nakba reveals to us that stories of sexual violence actually caused Palestinians to leave their villages quicker out of fear. Israel’s foundation and genocidal path is littered with sexual crimes against the Palestinian people. One cannot understand the foundation of Israel and the Zionist project without taking into account how such crimes were instrumental in it’s founding and very nature.

What happens to those who dare to call out this hypocrisy? They are doxxed, harassed, slandered and attacked. Those who wish to organize for Palestine are sought out by the police and the courts, who wish to stamp out all forms of resistance. This is why organization and action today is so important, to combat this fascistic thuggery.

For young revolutionaries across this country, this is a struggle of utmost importance. We reside in the beating heart of the main force of global reaction, and it is our duty to resolutely oppose U.S imperialism’s new genocidal aims. RSU point of unity #1 teaches us that ” the only solution is to overthrow” the corrupt and disgraceful US imperialist system. We stand firm in our duty to oppose Imperialism, and today that takes the form of taking a stand for Palestine. RSU is a revolutionary youth organization that stands unconditionally with the Palestinian resistance. If you are a young revolutionary who seeks to take up their historical duty of opposing the US imperialism and want to take action to oppose the genocide against the Palestinian people, seek out RSU.

Portland RSU and a local organization: Burning Ballot Box worked together to hosted a demonstration targeted at “Precision Castparts Corps” whom openly work with Boeing in constructing weaponry for the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF).

The New York Revolutionary Youth held a red contingent at a Within Our Lifetime protest in Queens NY. Activists handed out flyers displaying there unwavering support for the Palestinian Resistance and urging the masses to seek out a revolutionary organization like NYRY.

The New York Revolutionary Youth joined comrades from Samidoun New Jersey/New York and Dare To Struggle outside the NYC German embassy to demand a end to the persecution of Palestinians in Germany in response to the recent attacks on Samidoun in Germany. NYRY painted a banner which read “Youth against repression”.

A New York Revolutionary Youth activist lit off a green smoke bomb at a Within Our Lifetime protest to demand a end to the genocide in Gaza.

The New York Revolutionary Youth joined our comrades in the Revolutionary Study Group (RSG) for a red contingent at the national march on DC on November 4th 2023. We raised our red flags high and fought back against the Zionist aggression which the Palestinian people are facing.

The Issaquah Students’ League held a district wide walkout for Palestine. Educational pamphlets were distributed at all locations and speeches denouncing US imperialism’s role in supporting the genocide in Palestine.

The Issaquah Students’ League also hosted a protest in Issaquah to show support for the Palestinian people. The first protest of its kind ever held in the city of Issaquah.
