The Issaquah Students’ League (An RSU Chapter) attended the Anti Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) people’s summit in Seattle held by the International League of Peoples’ Struggle this July 29th to 30th. The ISL marched alongside by the The Puget Sound Revolutionary Study Group, along with other Revolutionary Study Group (RSG) comrades from out of state and the whole Pacific Northwest People over Profit Coalition. The ISL hosted a workshop on the importance of the worker-student alliance where over 50 people attended! Attendees loved the presentation and many in the audience took notes while also asking great questions that advanced their understanding even more.

APEC is an international capitalist organization that plunders underdeveloped Bureaucrat capitalist countries throughout the Asia-Pacific and they are responsible for giving out corporate guidelines that result in the shipping away of jobs from imperialist countries such as the USA towards the Asia-Pacific. APEC does not care about the working class of this region, they simply want to push their neoliberal agenda and rake in profits. In Seattle the APEC ministers and corporate lobbyists began their closed door meetings to discuss secretive new free trade dealings which will negatively impact billions of workers in the region.

Multiple chapters of the RSU (including the ISL) will be attending the final anti-APEC people’s summit against the meeting of the heads of state of APEC in San Francisco on November 11th-12th.

LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTIONARY STUDENT UNION!
UNSHACKLE THE YOUTH!
LONG LIVE INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY!
